Serbian G-4 Supergaleb birdstrike

Accident took place few days ago when 252th training aviation squadron had student combat exercise in canon rocket and bombing on Čenta shooting range.




It was second sortie that day. Group of 3 advanced G-4 jet trainers lined up for take of on runway no 2 in northward direction.
Leader of formaton was expirienced instructor with young Lieutenant in front cockpit, wingmen in another Supergaleb was first women in serbian airforce 2nd Lieutenant Sandra Radovanović who was alone in the aircraft.




Despite all precaution measures against bird presence in airport zone, one stork encoutered directly on the path of planes which just got its orders to realise brakes while their RR/DMB Viper engines was on full power

Pilots in first cockpit saw the stork and took off as agressivly as it could avoiding collision in few centimeters, but bird did not had luck and have been sucked in left air intake of wingman airplane and chopped by titanium blades.
Engine immidiately lost power in most crittical phase of flight.
Nose landing gear was already in the air and speed was between 170 and 190 km/h.
Fortunately Sandra managed to act properly, stedy the airplane hit the brakes, causing violent stress on landing gear, with tyres on main landing gear exploded instantly and front one rotated 90degrees of axis(at that stage it was not locked in position)

Fortunately everything ended well, prooving that female pilots are not inferior to their male colegues as common oppinion, with damage made only to first stage of engine, and minor damages to landing gear which have been already repaired(engine is in overhaul facility)

Right pilot i've seen her in a couple videos she is the Serbian version of N. Malachowski Smile

Well she could do it more gently and she hit parking brake because most probably tyres would be ok, because of anti blocking system incorporated in aircraft.
But it could be worse
