Falcon BMS 4.32 is a mod, modded or modified version from the original old old (1998) Microprose game. With some hacking skills, computing skills & tonnes of enthusiasm, it can be done by anyone. This new BMS version of Falcon 4 is simply amazing facelift!

rendered on top of all other windows and the taskbar. Default is 0 (old behavior), set to 1 to activate.

? Added config variable g_nCampPeriodicSaveMinutes (default 0 = disabled), which allows for cyclic autosave
on the campaign host. This enables public hosts to run w/o monitoring and still have a recent savegame
available in case the server crashes. Note that the time is in "game" minutes, not real minutes, and that the
saving will only be done if the time compression is set to x1.
? AddAdded config variable g_sCampPeriodicSaveName (default "Auto") to set the prefix for the automatic
cyclic save name (campaign date and time will be added automatically).
? Fixed HCMS knob vanishing under certain conditions if used as analogue axis.

there is currently NO proper feedback on the client about WHY the connection has been refused, the client
only sees the usual "unable to connect" message.
? CTD fix (aka Mav CTD - probably a 1000 years one) when trying to change Maverick polarity when no
missiles on-board. The code was dereferencing Sms->curWeapon which was of course NULL. WPN MFD is
in OFF mode without weapons and the crash probably was never found because no one tried to change polarity
when in OFF mode. Anyway, it won't crash anymore.
? Fixed debriefing actual TOT "seconds/minutes early/late" display.
? Adjusted UI keymap display to hide the assigned keytext for blue header lines.
Just FYI, keyfiles come with 4 different possible visibility states:
o -2 = hidden
o -1 = visible and locked in UI, header (blue background, no keytext)
o 0 = visible and locked in UI, normal entry (green keytext)
o 1 = visible and changeable in UI, normal entry (white keytext)
? Corrected OTWGlanceForward getting reversed under certain conditions.
? Fixed a bug in HARM POS mode where a HARM that doesn't find a target on the way to the reference STPT
was hitting the exact STPT position (What makes it kind of "GPS guided" missile). Fixed that by setting some
randomness in the STPT location, not too large so the HARM will find a target if there is and not too small so
it'll not hit too close to STPT exact position when a target wasn't found.
? Excluded texture memory check from low memory warning calculation as it is not reliable enough. Lowered
low memory warning threshold for the other counters to 64 MB.
? Fixed ACMI shadowmap position.
? Added additional "Environment" entry to the ACMI options menu, where options regarding the environment
rendering can be selected:
o "Time of Day": If set (default), ACMI playback will honor the tape timestamp. If deselected, ACMI
will render the view in full 12 o'clock noon sunlight, which will help e.g with night tape reviews.
o "Weather": If set (default), ACMI playback will honor the tape weather. If deselected, ACMI will
render the view in SUNNY condition w/o clouds or fog, which will help e.g. with bad weather tape
reviews.
o "Shadows": If set (default), ACMI playback will render the shadowmap. If deselected, ACMI will be
rendered w/o shadows, which will help e.g. with shadow rendering issues.
? Added additional "Big Fonts" entry to the ACMI "Labels" options menu. If selected, this will render the ACMI
labels with a bigger font, which will help with readability issues.
? Fixes for DX button mappings set for the button release event. Previously all such bindings resulted in the
callback being invoked with key up semantics. Since most discrete callbacks are coded to function with key
down invocation there was no way to get the required functions to work completely. The new code allows you
to specify three behaviors for any DX button binding and to have separate choices of those behaviors for both
button press events and button release events. You can now specify that a binding is invoked with key down,
key up or default behavior.
An example to clarify:

First the conventional form of a DX binding line still looks the same:

SimDMSDown 20 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"

The -2 means: this is a DX button binding, 20 is the button ID# and the -1 says dow key
up/downdefault behavior. This means that the SimDMSDown callback is invoked both for the press
and release of the button and the two invocations get the key-down and key-up parameters
respectively.

Now...if instead of the -1 in the second numeric field we place a -2, that means invoke this binding
with a key down semantic only.

SimDMSDown 20 -2 -2 0 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"

This results in the SimDMSDown callback being invoked only one time even if you physically press
and release the joystick button.

In addition, you can as before set a different binding line up for the joystick button release event, this is
done as before by placing 0x42 in the 4th numeric field of a DX button binding line as follows:

SimDMSDown 20 -4 -2 0x42 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"

Note in this case the value in the second field is now -4. -4 in that field of a DX button binding line
means invoke this callback with a key up semantic. So, if this 0x42-equipped line were the only line in
the key file for button 20, what would happen when you physically press the button is that no callback
would be invoked but you would get the SimDMSDown callback invoked when you released the
physical button but with the key up semantic.

In effect then these two lines:

SimDMSDown 20 -2 -2 0 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"
SimDMSDown 20 -4 -2 0x42 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"

Do the same as:

SimDMSDown 20 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 "SimDMSDown"

However, a more interesting and useful example is what you would do for the mechanical on/off
switch on the HUD SYM wheel that controls the power for the HUD display if you have that set up to
deliver a DX button event via your controller:

SimHUDOn 20 -2 -2 0 0x0 0 "HUD power on"
SimHUDOff 20 -2 -2 0x42 0x0 0 "HUD power off"

The result of these two lines is that when button 20 (which recall is actually the 21st button on a
Windows joystick controller, F4 numbers them starting from 0 as the first and Windows numbers
starting with 1) turns on, the SimHUDOn callback is invoked with key down semantics and the HUD
should power up. Conversely when button 20 turns off, the SimHUDOff callback is invoked but
noting the -2 in the 2nd numeric field it is also invoked with key down semantics.
? CTD fix for pressing DX buttons in the setup control panel with the new individual DX press/release
keymappings.
? Usage of SimMotionFreeze is now prohibited in MP.
Added additional BMS exe icons colors (gold/green/purple). You can select your preferred icon color for the
BMS exe shortcut by right-clicking on it, then select "Properties". Go to the "Shortcut" tab and find the
"Change icon" button in the lower middle.
? E3 project dome DOF changed from 2 to 14.
? Added a config option g_bMouseButton4TogglesClickablePit (default false). If set, the 4th mouse button (if
available) will toggle between mouselook and clickable pit. By the way: the wheel is button 3.
? Added additional "Wind Check" option to the Tower Approach ATC radio menu. If called, the tower will reply
with the current wind heading at the airbase in three digits, rounded to full 10 degree steps, and the wind speed
in knots in two digits.
? Fix for HARMs not finding targets in POS mode because screwed-up setting of target location causing the
missile to go too high and loss ability to find the intended radar target.
? Corrected framerate logfile ("-log") output directory.
? Fix a bug in HARM HAS mode. When locked up, it was dropping target if other threats of the same type
(which are not the locked target) were behind 3-9 line. It should drop only if the locked target passes the line.

- Fixed FCR radar cursors, they can't be slewed anymore while AC is on ground.
- Fixed Data Link modes and the assignment ID’s, they are no longer displayed on the FCR if DL power is off.
- Fixed antenna elevation, it can only be changed now if FCR is SOI.
- Fixed some MFDs in greenmode/non-color mode, which were still using colors.
- Fixed exporting displays to shared texture memory area (will work again in the same way that it did for OpenFalcon and BMS 2): Setting g_bExportRTTTextures to 1 will create a shared texture memory area (even w/o external displays enabled), named "FalconTexturesSharedMemoryArea". This does work as well with double RTT resolution! The shared mem area is not updated every frame, but every g_nRTTExportBatchSize frame (defaults to 2).
- Changed version string output in both the main UI and the monolog file to be: "Falcon BMS x.y.z (plat) Build n", e.g. "Falcon BMS 4.32.2 (x86) Build 10900". This allows for easier identifying of the actual applied update for the end-users (x=major, y=minor, z=micro/Update), while keeping the actual build version in there for dev reference.
- Fixed squadron patches not completely/all showing in UI logbook.
- Implemented generic Airbase validity check. "Faulty" Airbases will no longer cause a CTD, but a MonoLog output which includes the name, VU_ID and the X/Y position for tracking. Adjusted all Airbase checks in landme.cpp to use the generic check.
- Fix for BuildControllerList() CTD in case an input device is enumerated, but for some reason has no valid name string.
- Fixed possible "out of index" CTD when building video driver or resolution list.
- Corrected ObjectLOD::ReadFromFile() to ensure the target ObjectLOD stays valid (but empty) if a file error occurs. Formerly, the target ObjectLOD was partly set to undefined values in case of a file error.

Data:
- Fixed tower calling out RWY 32 at Kimpo as 31.
- Applies the fix for the M2000 additional air intakes (see U2) to the 2000-D and 2000-N cockpit 3D wings.
- A complete overhaul to TE00 Ramp start training script.
- Added proper error message string for deleting flights which contain human pilots.
- Added new dedicated SimPause and SimResume callbacks to BMS.key (unmapped), in addition to the existing SimTogglePaused callback.

- Fixes a bug with the missing HTS sensor, that prevents from locking any target when the AS-37 (anti-radiation) missile is loaded. Added a line "Has_HTS 1" to mirage2k9.dat and mirage2kd.dat
- Fixed radar not being able to acquire EF2000 and JAS39 by changing their radar surface ratio to 91% of F-16 (detection will be around 33Nm now).
- Added new options for the shared texture memory area to "Falcon BMS.cfg":
-- set g_bExportRTTTextures 0 // This enables the shared texture memory area for HUD/MFDs/HMS/RWR/DED/PFL. This is independent from BMS external window usage!

- Updated rumble.ogg sound: removed crackle when playback starts (Touchdown), start and ending off rumble sample zeroised and loop optimized (thanks to Livrot).

απ'οτι λενε χρειαζετε να βγαλετε πρωτα αν εχετε το ισραηλ να περασετε το update και μετα να το ξαναβαλετε γιατι πειραζει και καποια μοντελα

- Fixed DED ILS CRS display to include leading zeros.
- Fixed FCR ACM/CRM mode in MRM always being coupled to the current NAV or AA mode, they can be set independent now.
- Fixed the "Enable Training Script" checkbox not resetting correctly when backing out of a TE. Made sure that the "Commit" button is only active if a TE is actually selected.
- Changed the Bank Angle Indicator (BAI) on the HUD to use the newer Block version.
- Fixed optimum altitude caret (CRUS HOME), it now honors the actual HUD altitude mode (barometric/radar) correctly.
- Fixed HUD mode readout in MRM being stuck in NAV if no missiles are loaded.
- Fixed FCR BIT causing MFD primary/secondary/tertiary mode (OSBs #12,13,14) mixup. Instead, check whether FCR is configured on some MFD already, and activate that MFD page in that case. Only if FCR is not setup anywhere, change the current TEST page to FCR.
- Fixed possible deletion of non-highlighted files in the dogfight UI.
- Prevented AWACS from calling out A/C which are still on the ground as "be advised, thread bearing...". Please note that this is not a correctly modeled Doppler radar MTR (yet), hence it's a compromise, as real AWACS *could* call out ground A/C threads which are fast enough (e.g. during takeoff run). If you don't want that new behavior, just add "set g_bAWACSCallsGroundAC 1" in your config (default is 0, i.e. not calling).
- Allowed entering/displaying of leading zeros on the DED IFF page.
- Fixed E3 LOD script issues which broke some animations in simple models:
-- reverted "E3" LOD script (scriptnumber 5) to the original DOF 2 version as it was before U3, applicable for "simple" models,
-- added an additional "ComplexE3" LOD script (scriptnumber 19) for DOF 14 use, applicable for "complex" models.
-- Note: as LODEditor does not support the new scriptnumber yet, this has to be set otherwise, e.g. with a hex editor...
- Provided onscreen feedback for joystick recentering in 3D.
- Provided status results in onscreen feedback for TrackIR reloading/recentering in 3D.
- Fixed g_nDeagTimer (lead time for spawning AI) not working in MP.
- Fixed SimPause and SimResume callbacks not being available.
- Corrected DED CNI and STPT page STP/IP/TGT mnemonics behavior: the steerpoint rotary mnemonic and number (STPT xx, IP xx, TGT xx) will usually be shown as STPT xx now. IP xx will only be shown if VIP is active, TGT will only be shown if VRP is active.
- Fixed missing leading 00 for times after midnight for the DED TOS lines on ICP List/DEST and ICP STPT.
- If the obogs breathing sound is active, it will now be muted once you transmit on the radios.
- NWS is not available anymore if LG has been lowered using ALT GEAR.
- Fixed ICP CRUS page DES TOS editing, it does properly handle the current day now:
-- all entered times (hh:mm:ss) will be based on the current day.
-- if a time is entered which is in the past (based on a 24h clock), a time for the *next* day will be assumed.
- Fixed IVC, UHF/GUARD not separating properly.
- Corrected DED UHF/VHF page behavior:
-- PRE will always display the value/frequency of the latest active preset channel upon entering the page.
-- PRE will be highlighted if a preset is active (*a* preset, not necessarily *the* preset currently inreview).
- Made sure AI radio messages can only be received if the corresponding radio is actually powered on. This fixes e.g. the "radio subtitle cheat" issue. Note: As the AI radio system is still not frequency aware, it is possible (though not likely), that the new functionality suppresses radio messages which is was not supposed to suppress. In that case, the behavior can be reverted by setting "set g_bAllowAICommsDrop_NoRadioPower 0".
- Fixed VHF proximity preset filtering.
- Fixed HSI bearing to beacon needle pointing to TACAN while out-of-range in Tacan-ILS mode.
- Fixed radar lock being maintained after the player has landed.
- Fixed UHF preset never kick in when preset is set as default in DTC comm.
- The UHF DTC channels 15-19 will now be *copied* to the BUP presets 15-19 upon entering 3D. This is ONLY a temporary stop-gap "hack" to enable some kind of manual control for the BUP radio (i.e. for tower communications) until MAN freq tuning for the BUP radio is available. Yes, we know it's not "as real as it gets", but again, this is a *temporary* convenience hack only.
- Added freely adjustable 3D mouse sensitivity. Can be configured with the new config option "g_fMouseSensitivity" (default 1.0). Note: anything *below* 1.0 will simply set the sensitivity to "half". That should not be an issue, as all reports were complaining about "too low" sensitivity, i.e. people will choose settings > 1.0 anyway. Try 1.2 to 1.5 for good results.
- Added new callback RecenterJoystick. This will enable the same "center joystick" (pitch/roll/yaw) functionality from the UI to be available in 3D as well.
- Go to x1 compression 5sec early when launching to ramp/taxi/runway from above x1 time compression, to make sure all network queues had some time to process/sync before launch.
- FalconEditor Objective Editor menus fixed (double actions).

- Fixed the RF Campaign "win" conditions to be back to P'Yongyang and Wonsan, (no more Hamhung). Adjusted the ATO, for balance, reducing the number of Blue Force squadrons. Reduced F-5E, removed F-15C's, B1-B's, B-52's, and F-16C Block 50 from initial activation.
- Sound table and PS.ini changes to fix the silence in external views, and also allow some effects feedback in cockpit when sound effects slider is anywhere right to the "with earplugs" default setting. Also made ship sailing sound and thunder sound stronger in general.
- Changed some PS effects:
-- GP500, GP750, GP1000 and GP2000 bombs

-- Secondary explosion for features and vehicles
- Added training water bomb (like ITO red/blue bombs) PS effect.

- Updated THEATER.MEA to match current BMS Korea terrain data. This corrects the minimum flight and attack altitudes for A.I. flights.
- Added RedDogs BMS 4.32 Dash 1 manual to the BMS doc folder.
- Updated "Keyfile-generator.xls" to reflect 4.32 U4 callback changes.
- Fix preventing the FAC role to be displayed in mission list when a/c’s FAC role is 0% in database role score.
- Updated the Logbook Pilot Pictures.
- Corrected the operability status for the NS/EW highway strips, i.e. ensured that the HQ planning and AI correctly honor the runway damaged/destroyed status.
- Fixed AI being unable to takeoff from EW Highway Strips.
- Corrected the F16s fuel transfer rates for the centerline tank from 20.0 to 18.0 and for the wingtanks from 33.3 to 30.0 (in 1000s pph).
- Increased viewlimit_pitch_down for all F16 3dckpit.dat files from 50 to 70, in order to make TrackIT/MouseLook movements towards the panels not to feel artificially limited.
- Fixes TOW missile exploding before hitting the target.
- New sun texture, fixes the distorted look when players have blur and bloom off (Note: this might lead to an "elliptic" sun for some players, depending on the sun position at the skydome. However, we figured that this is better than the "sun with corners" that we had before).
- Sorted the Wingman Combat Management radio pages to be in the correct order.
- Adjusted EWS defaults in DTC, fixing the "Chaff Flare Release All" bug when you enter 3D w/o a valid DTC.
- Updated camp files to match changed squadron stored data plus some minor adjustments.
- Adjusted squadron stores for F-16C-25, F-16C-30, F-16C-32, F-16C-TB, F-16C-AGRS, F-16C-40, F-16D-40, F-16C-42, F-16C-50, F-16C-52, F-16D-52 to match RL loadout (only usage of ALQ-184, no more ALQ-131).
- Added SimDedBrightness callback (unmapped) to BMS.key and keystrokes.key.
- Corrected some UI IRC files, they included (invalid) comments which broke the parsing, which lead to some texts not showing up correctly in the UI.
- All onscreen overlay fonts use Arial now, to have them consistent across all resolutions, adjusted radio menu popup box sizes in all resolutions accordingly, implemented ALL common screen resolutions, added info for customized resolutions.
- Added new misc config option g_bAllowAICommsDrop_NoRadioPower (default 1). See code changenotes for details.

- Allow the TGP to set the ground spot position to the trackpoint if it’s in A-G mode and displayed on one of the MFDs. That will force deaggregation of entities close to the trackpoint.
- Set default PS emitter activeRange to 300K feet. Some effects use greater visibleDistanceScale than the previously defined activeRange - 100K feet.
- Candidate fix for the problem where dumb bombs appeared never to hit in 2D world. This seems in fact to be because making bombs with range of zero means they have a low single digit chance to hit rather than no chance...wrong either way. This change makes the hit chances more reasonable at the expense of a very small boost in chances for stand-off weapons fired in 2D. Note: this corresponds to a data change: all dumb bombs should be marked range equal zero now.
- FalconEditor updates. Ability to edit alternative theaters.
- Fix for problem with data mismatch for internal fuel vs. sum of all internal fuel tanks which did lead to problem not disconnecting from boom.
- Fix for new CL calculation where maybe some rounding error will cause trouble.
- Turbulence in U4 is heavily broken. Fixed now.
- Fix for the missing AIM-120 Reticle in MRM mode. Fix for AIM-120s in MRM mode showing "SRM" HUD string, it’s now "MRM" again.
- Reverted fix for AI not able to takeoff from airstrips, as it had negative side-effects.
- Vcas could have been updated incorrectly.
- A race condition existed where clients would receive other client's FalconSessions before the F4Comm's code flagged the connections as being connected. This would then set the FalconSession's IsConnected state to false. VU would then cull that session shortly afterwards.
- Changed degree symbol in recon window to show up as '*' instead of '^' (the proper '°' is currently not available in the screen font).
- Added new config option g_bCenterUI (default 0/false). If set to 1/true, the 2D UI will be centered horizontally and vertically on the desktop, instead of honoring the 3D window position coordinates. Like this, ppl with multiple screens in use (e.g. TripleHead2Go or EyeFinity) can center the 2D UI, while still having the 3D spanning all the screens. Note that if g_bCenterUI is true, the coordinates for the main screen will not be saved back to windowconfig.dat in case the window is moved (e.g. because borders are active).
- Added config option g_nMaxAIvsIVCOffset (default 500, range 0-10000) which specifies the maximum +/- offset of the "AI vs IVC" volume. This option should allow for further testing of valid offsets, as it has been reported that the AI vs IVC balance functionality has no or very little effect.
- Fix for clients who could not, or took ages to connect to each other.
- Fix to get GM radar to render objects.
- Fixed culling issues on objects displayed in GM radar, and make objects render in white.
- Fixed the wrong win/loose/tie counting bug in the logbook.
- Fixed CTD in EyeFly.
- Fixed (some) vanishing objects in EyeFly view.
- Fixed FPM in Drift C/O, it was translated relative to the wing plane before, it's now correctly translated relative to the horizon plane instead.

- Added Campground VFS squadron patch.
- Corrected patch IDs. Attention: Your logbook might show a different squad patch in U5 than you actually expect, because some IDs have been re-ordered. In that case, simply change the squad patch, this is a one-time-only issue.
- Updates for weapon data so that dumb bombs are marked range equal zero. I've edited the ones I know about that had non-zero ranges but more may remain -- this needs checking. As of code change, dumb bombs ought to be range zero in all cases.
- Added HAF pilot pictures and 16th squad patches.
- Bad data for internal fuel vs. sum of all fuel tanks did lead to problem not disconnecting from boom.
- Fix for fluttering left aileron on A-10.
- Added "set g_bCenterUI 0" to the config MISC section. See code changelog for details.

- Fixed a CTD in MP which occurred if a client tried to issue movement commands to ground units. Note: this does not fix the ground unit movement command issues which still exist in 4.32, it simply avoids the CTD.
- The 2d map popup options (i.e. which objects are visible on the map) are now saved as part of the DTC. Physically, the data will be saved in the <callsign>.ini file.
- Added two new dedicated keyboard callbacks “AFCanopyOpen” and “AFCanopyClose” in addition to the existing “AFCanopyToggle” callback. The callbacks have not been added to the keyfiles, you have to add them yourself in case you want to use them.
- Recompiled all executables (BMS, Editor, IVC) with adjusted compiler settings, Windows XP SP2 is now the minimum supported operating system (was “vanilla” XP before). Note that this is only a “technical” detail. The BMS minimum OS policy as stated in the forum still applies.
